Jay Dawes MS, CSCS, NSCA-CPT is the Director of Education for the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) (www.nsca-lift.org) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In addition, Jay also serves as an assistant strength coach in the NSCA’s Human Performance Center and is pursuing his Ph.D. at Oklahoma State University in health and human performance/exercise science.

He is also a frequent presenter at the local, state and national level on various topics related to health, performance, and personal training.

He is certified by the NSCA as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a Certified Personal Trainer, the American College of Sports Medicine as a Health Fitness Instructor, the American Council on Exercise as a Certified Personal Trainer and USA Weightlifting as a Club Coach.

Jay has co-authored several strength and conditioning books and manuals including 101 Drills and Games for Conditioning Athletes, Training the Tactical Athlete: Special Forces Assessment and Selection Training Manual, and Training the Tactical Athlete: Basic Combat Readiness Training Manual. He has created or been featured in 7 instructional videos for the strength and conditioning professional, published numerous articles for various industry publications, including Strength and Conditioning Journal, NSCA Performance Training Journal, Training and Conditioning Magazine, NSCAS TSAC report, and the American College of Sports Medicine Certified Newsletter.

Jay is also frequently utilized as an expert source by a variety of media publications and programs, including Consumer Reports, Shape Magazine, Women’s Health, MSNBC, USA Today, and Run Fast Promotions.
