Lesley Spencer Pyle is the founder and president of the national association of Home-Based Working Moms, the creator of Mom’s Work-at-Home Kit (endorsed by Dr. Laura) and the author of The Work-at-Home Workbook.
She has been featured in numerous publications including Forbes, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Smart Money, Business Week, CBS News, Home Office Computing, Parents, Business Start-Ups, Family PC and many others. She has been working from home for over 12 years and has two children ages 10 and 12.
After successfully completing college with the help of loans, grants and work-study program, Lesley began her short career in the corporate world. She worked as the Public Relations/Tour Coordinator for the Dave Pelz Short Game Golf School in Austin, Texas. She also taught a course in the University of Texas informal class section entitled Public Relations as a Job Skill. She originally planned on going back to her full-time job after her first baby was born in 1994.
Instead, motherhood beckoned her home, and she began her own home business in public relations and communications. She quickly realized the need for guidance, support and networking for moms who worked at home. With this knowledge and her passion to help other moms, Lesley launched Home-Based Working Moms in November 1995.
The association has grown to over 400 members nationwide and her business now includes a network of five websites:
( www.eDirectoryofHomeBasedCareers.com), and
( www.MomsWorkAtHomeSite.com).
Lesley is frequently quoted in national media as an expert in the home business industry and has been featured in numerous books, magazines and broadcast programs.
