Dr. Mark Occhipinti is the President of the American Fitness Professionals & Associates (AFPA) (www.afpafitness.com), a health, fitness and nutrition continuing education and certifying organization, and teacher of nutrition and physical education at Ocean County College, NJ, a position that he held from 1988-1997.

He is an Author, Lecturer, Exercise Physiologist, and Nutritional consultant with over 29 years of experience in the Sports Nutrition, Strength Training, Sports Medicine and Personal Fitness Training fields.

His educational background includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition and Exercise Science, a Master’s of Science in Exercise Physiology specializing in Cardiac Rehabilitation, and a doctorate in applied Human Nutrition. Mark is currently completing his studies to become a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. He is a trained and accomplished Strength Coach, Emergency Medical Technician, Hospital Corpsman, Certified Massage Therapist & Certified Biofeedback Specialist, competitive Power lifter and Bodybuilder.

During the past 29 years he has conducted over 800 seminars in 46 states and abroad presenting to over 80,000 health and fitness professionals. Mark traveled and lectured in the area of health and fitness in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Germany, Canada, Japan, Singapore, the Caribbean, Hong Kong, Mexico, New Zealand and Australia.

Mark has served on the medical advisory board of several online health websites, including medicinecabinet.com, and is called upon by several news services as a fitness expert, including the New York Times and Chicago Sun.
