Margaret is the Founder & CEO of Wellcoaches Corporation (www.wellcoaches.com) (strategic partner of the American College of Sports Medicine), and the chief architect of the Wellcoaches vision and business, health, fitness, and wellness coach training and certification programs, and patent-pending web coaching and coach training platforms.
Passionate about a vision of physicians prescribing coaching for health behavior change on a large scale, Margaret founded Wellcoaches in early 2000 to train health and fitness professionals to become health, fitness, and wellness coaches, and market wellness coaching services to consumers, corporations, health clubs, health plans, and physicians. 575 wellness coaches have been trained in the past three years, including registered dietitians, physical therapists, personal trainers, cardiac rehab specialists, athletic trainers, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physicians.
Margaret is the lead author of a Harvard Medical School online CME program titled “Prescribing Lifestyle Medicine for Weight Management” and a new health, fitness, and wellness coach training manual to be published by Lippincott, Williams, & Wilkins, in collaboration with ACSM. She has published two papers in the International Coach Federation’s Coaching Research Symposium Proceedings.
Margaret is a seasoned speaker (including radio and TV) and has presented on coaching at the American College of Sports Medicine Summit (2005), IDEA Summit (2004 and 2005), and International Coach Federation International Conference (2004 and 2005), National Wellness Conference (2005).
Margaret Moore is an entrepreneur and 17-year veteran of the biotechnology industry in the UK, France, Canada, and the USA. Margaret served in executive roles in two multinational pharmaceutical companies (now part of AstraZeneca and Aventis), and as CEO or COO of two startup biotechnology companies, including a cancer biotechnology company that merged with publicly traded Medigene AG (Germany) in 2001.
Born near Toronto, Margaret has also been a lifelong student and consumer of therapy, personal growth, and fitness and wellness programs.
